Dana White reveals Johny Hendricks will get another big fight after 12-second knockout of Jon Fitch
UFC President, Dana White has revealed plans to keep welterweight star on the rise, Johny Hendricks busy with fights at the sharp end of the division following his stunning 12-second TKO win over Jon Fitch at UFC 141 less than a week ago.
Speaking soon after the fight this past Friday in Las Vegas, Dana said:
“Hendricks did something that GSP couldn’t do. There’s no way this was an early stoppage. Hendricks comes bursting out of nowhere and takes down the number-two guy. He’s got world class wrestling and nasty hands — he’s going to get another big fight.”
Hendricks has no doubt moved swiftly up the ranks in the welterweight division with this win but I personally feel there is still much to do if he’s to be considered a serious threat for the title in the future. Call me sceptical but in my opinion Fitch beats Hendricks more often than not despite the 12 second TKO.
