M-1 Global confirm they want to co-promote with the UFC over Fedor Emelianenko vs. Cain Velasquez
M-1 Global just don’t seem to have got their heads around the fact that the UFC doesn’t want to co-promote with them. It has today been revealed that the Russian based organisation wants to put on a joint show with the world premier mixed martial arts promotion, with the headlining fight being Fedor Emelianenko vs. Cain Velasquez.
Vadim Finkelstein, the head of M-1 Global, told the Russian media today:
“We are ready to move forward and offer the deal to UFC. M-1 is ready to take all organizational duties and make fight Fedor Emelianenko – Cain Velasquez in Moscow in 2012.”
“I can guarantee that gates will be at least at the same level as in US, and live attendance can even break all current records. M-1 is ready to co-operation and we would like to discuss about any possibilities to make this tournament happen.”
It seems M-1 Global were so impressed with the attendance and running of their show in Moscow, Russia this past weekend that they think they can sway the UFC with talks of another big show. Will the tempt Dana White and his merry men? Can pigs fly? Does Michael Pepper hate Nando’s!? No… I didn’t think so…
