Roy Nelson contracted walking pneumonia just weeks prior to his UFC 130 clash with Frank Mir
It has come to light that “Ultimate Fighter” season ten winner, Roy Nelson had contracted a case of walking pneumonia just weeks prior to his UFC 130 clash with Frank Mir this past weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada, a performance that was heavily criticised by UFC President, Dana White.
During a trip to the hospital following the fight Nelson tweeted:
“Now the docs wants to put me on the juice (steriods), plus I have a new @TrainingMask @ufc @danawhite. Gas tank is broke I have walking pneumonia, doc says he going to fix the roy 1.001.”
The fighters wife confirmed the former IFL heavyweight champion had walking pneumonia during the first two weeks of this month and may have never fully recovered. Walking pneumonia is a non-medical term for mild pneumonia with flu-like symptoms such as a fever being typical indicators.
