MMABay’s 2010 End of Year Awards: Who Wins? You Decide!!!

November 7, 2010 All MMA News, Exclusives  Comments

It’s that time of year again folks! We’re starting the countdown to the end of 2010, which can mean only one thing; it’s time to cast our minds back over the past year and give props to the biggest, the best and the brightest in the last twelve months of MMA. And that’s where you come in…

You see, unlike certain other industry awards ceremonies, we here at MMABay aren’t interested in spunking $100,000 on a corporate back-slapping contest. If you’re looking for bias and favouritism, you won’t find it here. Instead, the MMABay End of Year Awards are all about you, our readers. By the people, for the people!

Not only will we be giving you the opportunity to vote for the winners, we’ll be allowing you to choose the nominees! Think that Frank Mir vs Mirko Cro Cop was fight of the year? Then nominate it! See a knockout on a bizarre Japanese amateur show that you think deserves recognition? That’s your call! Got a category we haven’t thought of? Let us know about it!

We want your nominations for the following categories, then after precisely as long as we feel like, we’ll tally them up and come up with a shortlist for you to vote on. Here are the categories so far…

Fight of the Year…

Fighter of the Year…

Breakout Fighter of the Year…

Knockout of the Year…

Submission of the Year…

Comeback of the Year…

Event of the Year…

Upset of the Year…

MMA Website of the Year…

MMA Broadcast of the Year (eg. Inside MMA, MMABay Radio, MMA Live, ect.)…

The Shamrock/Severn Award for Worst Fight of the Year…

The Kalib Starnes Award for Worst Performance of the Year…

Leave your nomination in the comments section or email them in to michael@mmabay.co.uk, and we’ll post our shortlist in the coming weeks, giving you, the fans, the opportunity to choose the winners! This is your chance as MMA fans to get your voices heard and give the respect and plaudits to those involved in your favourite (and not so favourite) MMA moments of 2010.

So what are you waiting for? Get nominating!!!

The MMABay Team.

Why not tell us what you think about this story and get your thoughts featured in this week’s Mailbag? Email Mailbag@mmabay.co.uk, start the subject with the word ‘MAILBAG’ and we’ll post our favourites this Friday.
