UFC 124 – Thiago Alves and John Howard set to do battle on December 11th in Montreal, Quebec, Canada
UFC welterweight contender, Thiago Alves is set to square off with fellow heavy hitter, John Howard at UFC 124 on December 11th in Montreal, Quebec, Canada according to reports.
Sources close to the situation revealed news of the fight to MMAJunkie.com, explaining verbal agreements are in place on both sides. This of course brings to an end the chance of seeing “Pitbull” square off with Mike Pierce.
Alves is looking to rebound against arguably the top two fighters in the welterweight division right now, being taken down and ground into oblivion by Georges St. Pierre and Jon Fitch. Prior to that he’d scored wins over the likes of Chris Lytle, Matt Hughes and Josh Koscheck.
As for Howard, he’ll be looking to rebound from a third round stoppage loss at the hands of Jake Ellenberger oin the UFC on Versus 2 card at the beginning of last month. Prior to the he scored a “Knockout of the Night” win over Daniel Roberts in March.
