WEC 52 – Reed Harris reveals Urijah Faber should return in November to take on Takeya Mizugaki
WEC General Manager has this week revealed former featherweight champion, Urijah Faber should return in November at WEC 52 to make his 135 pound debut against Japanese buzzsaw, Takeya Mizugaki.
Harris accompanied “The California Kid” to a medical examination recently where he was officially cleared to compete, raising a cheer from the fighter himself.
Harris spoke to MMAJunkie.com this week and said:
He just wants to get back in there so bad. He was good for September probably. But we had our card set already in Denver, so he’s going to fight in November. And I think he’s going to fight Takeya Mizugaki. Mizugaki’s been funny. He’s like, ‘I’ll wait for the guy. I’ll wait for him. I don’t care.’ He wants that fight.”
Faber will be looking to get back to winning ways after losing to 145 pound champ, Jose Aldo last time out in April via unanimous decision. He has gone 2-3 in his last five fights prompting a move down to the bantamweight division.
