UStream taps out and hands over IP addresses of individuals streaming Pay-Per-View content
Streaming website, UStream.com has today announced that they have complied with the subpoena issued to them by the UFC’s parent company, Zuffa LLC, and handed over several IP addresses which were used by individuals to stream live Pay-Per-View content, costing the promotion a considerable amount of money.
UStream also announced they have stepped up their efforts to prevent future problems by updating their video monitoring tools to take down copyrighted content more quickly.
Zuffa’s CEO, Lorenzo Fertitta had indicated the company was losing “ten’s of millions” due to the streams, with some 80,000 people watching UFC 110 illegally back in February. The other streaming site caught up in this, Justin.tv, is yet to make a statement regarding it’s compliance.
