UFC 122 – Proposed event in Germany likely to air free in the U.S on SPIKE TV
It appears as though UFC fans in the United States will be treated to two free events in the space of one month, as it is expected that UFC 122 – scheduled for November 13th in Oberhausen, Germany – will air on SPIKE TV.
SPIKE TV have recently confirmed that ‘UFC 120: Bisping vs. Akiyama’ will air for free for American viewers on the network, and MMAJunkie.com today gained information from sources close to the organisation that UFC 122 will likely follow suit.
If broadcast on SPIKE TV, the event would air via same-day delay for viewers in the USA, while viewers in the United Kingdom will likely be able to view the event live on ESPN UK.
The event marks the second time the UFC have visited Germany, following UFC 99 which went down in June last year in Cologne. The UFC have not been the most welcome of guests in the country, and UFC 99 was greeted by some resistance from the German media and more recently the UFC was banned from being shown on television.
No potential fights or fighters have yet been confirmed for the proposed event on November 13th, which is scheduled to take place at the Konig Pilsener Arena but German lightweight Denis Siver will surely feature on the card. Additionally, the UFC are said to be scouring Germany for other potential talent to add to the card and TUF season eleven finalist Kris McCray – born in Germany – recently spoke of moving to welterweight and trying to get himself on the German card.
