Mike Kyle forces Abongo Humphrey to tap out before calling for light heavyweight title shot
Light heavyweight veteran, Mike Kyle picked up a second round submission win over Abongo Humphrey last night at Strikeforce: Challengers 9 in Everett, Washington before turning his attentions to the 205 pound title.
Both men engaged in a wild striking war in the first round, throwing bombs from every possible angle, even if it didn’t appears to be very technical. In the second round Kyle managed to get the fight to the ground, eventually taking his opponents back and securing the rear-naked choke for the win.
Following the fight Kyle threw his hat into the ring for a future title fight against the winner of the “King Mo” Lawal vs. Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante fight, set to go down next month in Houston, Texas. I think this is a clear indication of the lack of depth Strikeforce currently possesses.
