Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal vs. Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante appears set for August 21st in Texas

Strikeforce light heavyweight champion, Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal appears set to make his first title defence against Brazilian heavy hitter, Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante at the promotions August 21st event in Houston, Texas.

According to FiveOuncesOfPain.com, sources close to the promotion have indicated that both men have been approached over the fight.

Lawal has been the diamond in the rough over the past two years, coming from nowhere to defeat “pound for pound” contender, Gegard Mousasi in April via unanimous decision for the title. The all-star wrestler holds notable wins in the heavyweight division as well, stopping Mike Whitehead inside the distance.

Across the cage from him will be knockout artist, Cavalcante who has stopped eight of his nine opponents inside the distance. The Brazilian trains at the world famous Black House gym alongside Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida and was last seen knocking out Antwain Britt.
